While a few elements such as videos and design are still to come, what truly matters is that the release day of this album is approaching. ]]><![CDATA[Dag van de Componist]]>Tue, 15 Jul 2025 09:57:41 GMThttp://www.nubim.net/news/dag-van-de-componistI'm excited to share that Ensemble Oihua, a renowned Dutch ensemble, performed my piece 'Carving Letters on Wood' at Dag van de Componist, a nationwide music festival celebrating contemporary Dutch composers.

The performances took place on June 20 and 21. Originally written for violin and bass, the piece was presented in a new arrangement for viola and bass.

]]><![CDATA[Special lecture at Codarts]]>Mon, 14 Apr 2025 07:00:00 GMThttp://www.nubim.net/news/special-lecture-at-codartsI gave a special lecture to bachelor/master students majoring in classical/jazz composition at Codarts, my alma mater. I introduced the characteristics of traditional Korean art and explain my personal composition method, focusing on my compositions based on traditional Korean art and culture. I analyzed five pieces from my new project repertoire that reflect Korean tradition in different ways. It was a time to explain Korean tradition to teachers and students and suggest ways to creatively musicalize it. I felt rewarded by the deep interest the attendees showed in Korean tradition and my work, and it was a valuable time that made me think that I should continue to work to connect Korean tradition and modernity.

Nubim's new project is coming on!
Composer Nubim‘s multicultural project ’Connectivity‘ performed by Nubim Kim Group will be presented in Rotterdam in June with the support of the City of Rotterdam, and in Korea in August at the invitation of the Korean national festival.

The Dutch ensemble led by a Korean composer performing under the auspices of national institutions in both the Netherlands and Korea will be a meaningful example of cultural exchange between Korea and the Netherlands.

Nubim Kim Group이 연주하는 Nubim의 신작 프로젝트 ‘Connectivity‘가 로테르담 시의 후원으로 오는 6월 로테르담에서, 한국의 국립 페스티벌의 초청으로 8월에 한국에서 선보입니다.

한국인 작곡가가 이끄는 네덜란드 앙상블이 한국과 네덜란드에서 각각 국립 기관의 후원 하에 공연을 갖는 일은 한국과 네덜란드 양국의 문화교류에 있어 의미있는 사례가 될 것입니다.
